Todd Rice is an Owner, Managing Partner, and Broker/REALTOR® with Blue Ridge Realty & Investments. The independently owned Real Estate Company provides operations in six locations throughout the High Country to include Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Linville, West Jefferson, and Lenoir. In addition, Todd is a Managing Broker/Owner with Boone High Country Rentals, and Blue Ridge Professional Property Services, providing long term rental management and owner association management through these companies. As a Managing Partner, Todd oversees the combined operations between Sales and Property Management including 50+ REALTOR®/Broker Agents, in addition to a staff of 30+ employees. A licensed REALTOR® since 2004, Todd brings over 25 years of business experience to his Clients.
Licensed in both North Carolina and Tennessee, Todd Rice is an active member of the High Country Association of REALTORS®, a Broker-In-Charge, and a successful real estate practitioner. As an active member of the High Country Association of REALTORS®, Todd has been chosen for a number of leadership roles, including serving as a member of the Professional Standards Committee, the Executive Search Selection Committee, and previously served on the Board of Directors as Secretary. He has also served his community as past member of the Watauga County Board of Adjustments, past Board Member to the Blue Ridge Conservancy, and is currently an active member of several of the High Country’s Chambers of Commerce. Always looking to hone his professional skills to better serve his clients, Todd has obtained the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), the Certified Residential Specialists (CRS), and Green REALTOR® designations.
With a record of success, Todd offers exceptional service and integrity to both sellers and buyers. A singular understanding of the market allows him to advise, assist, and guide his clients in the purchase or sale of a primary residence, investment property, or vacation home. Additionally, Todd works with investors, developers, and property managers for Residential, Multi-family, and Commercial properties for both existing and new construction. His extensive comprehension of the Boone, Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis, and Banner Elk areas, coupled with his customer service experience, has enabled Todd to fulfill the particular real estate needs of his customers with an emphasis on service, value, and satisfaction. Also very familiar with multiple private gated communities around the High Country, Todd is a source of knowledge of the area and its history. As a second-generation REALTOR®, Todd, along with his family, was involved in the developments of Yonahlossee Resort and Sunalei Preserve, in addition to other private communities in the High Country.
While serving the community, Todd has been a guest speaker to the Appalachian State University Center for Entrepreneurship and Todd has won the People’s Choice Award for Best Real Estate Agent in the High Country, and Best of the Best Real Estate Office multiple years in a row. Additionally, Blue Ridge Realty & Investments won “Large Business of the Year” in 2018-2019, and “Commercial Renovation of the Year” when the new Boone Real Estate Office opened. With stewardship to the local community, Blue Ridge Realty & Investments and Boone High Country Rentals have sponsored and provided to local organizations to include the Watauga Humane Society, the local Hunger Coalition, Santa’s Toy Box, Habitat for Humanity, Western Youth Network, the High Country Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Appalachian State University Family Weekend, just to name a few.
Todd attended college in New England and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management and Business. Prior to his full time career in real estate, Todd worked as an Assistant Manager for the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan. Subsequently, he worked in Hotel Sales Management for Hyatt Hotels in Dallas, Denver, and Chicago and, as Director of Sales managed the New York Hilton Midtown. With a testament to his skill and commitment, Todd was previously nominated as Sales Manager of the Year for Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, plus he received the President’s Award for Excellence with Hilton Hotels. Todd is also proud to have achieved the designation of Eagle Scout.
Todd and his wife, Tuesdae, have a son, Thomas, and a daughter, Alice. The family lives in Valle Crucis, North Carolina, with their rescue dogs, cats, and some farm chickens and are members of Boone United Methodist Church. Tuesdae Rice is also a Licensed REALTOR®/Broker, although her primary occupation is the Operations Manager for Blowing Rock Brewing Company with statewide distribution, along with two Retail Restaurant/Brewery locations, and an Inn. The Rice family are avid supporters of Appalachian State University Athletics, Performing Arts, and the Valle Crucis Community Park (Todd’s family were founding members of the Park). While enjoying time with family is his favorite activity, Todd also participates in many outdoor endeavors such as sailing, tennis, mountain biking, skiing, and hiking. The Rice Family also enjoys cooking, chess, reading, landscaping, travel, hunting for antique furniture, rehabbing old homes, a wide variety of music, and spending time working around their homestead.
